Mwesiga Jedidiah | POET
Mugarura Mwesiga Jedidiah is a Ugandan Diplomat and poet studying International Relations at United States International University - Africa in Nairobi. From an early age, Jedidiah displayed a talent for writing poems and his first poem was published in the New Vision newspaper to save Mabira Forest in 2006 while in primary six at City Parents’ School. Jedidiah (known as - J - throughout his poetry) is enormously influenced by contemporary themes of love, loneliness, and beauty tinted with political and social injustice in the society of the Ugandan. He is inspired by everything in his heart and every time he gets to write, it’s like he is pouring out parts of himself and those of others that many can barely express in word. He comes from Ntungamo district and was born and raised in Kampala, Uganda by his mother, Jane Kyarisiima. He is a writer passionate about Ankole and in love with his home. Some of his writings include ‘All’ a poem about women and girls insecurities and the imperfections they are made to believe they have, ‘In the Sacristy’ a poem that highlights the struggles of a child being bullied in a single sex catholic boys school, among other works of art.
